I’m Jeff Mayes, originally from Pennsylvania—Allentown, to be exact—the good side of the state. I made my way to Massachusetts in 1987, where I started out as a production electrician working in theatre, dance, and concerts. Over the years, my interests have expanded in many directions, but they all share a common thread: curiosity, creativity, and a love for discovery.
Photography, genealogy, and the outdoors have been lifelong passions of mine, and I’ve dedicated a lot of time to exploring each in depth. Scouting and outdoor leadership, in particular, have played a significant role in my life, shaping how I approach challenges and mentorship. Beyond that, music has been a defining part of my journey—not just as something to enjoy, but as a way to explore ideas, identity, and culture. I write about the intersection of music, personal discovery, and Gen X culture, unpacking how songs, artists, and movements have shaped both my worldview and a broader cultural narrative.
This website is a space to share those interests, insights, and experiences. Whether you're here for genealogy, outdoor leadership, or deep dives into music and culture, I hope you find something that sparks your curiosity. If you have any questions or want to explore something further, feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect.
