Use
These
terms pertain only to photography where the subject
of the photo is of a First Responder. Please see
copyright and terms for all other photography
contained on this site.
High resolution digital photograph are provided as
a courtesy to departments or agencies depicted in
them. Use of these photographs is limited by the
terms below.
Images may not be copied, distributed, altered, or
used in any manner not specifically itemized here
without purchasing a license or obtaining written
permission from Jeffrey Mayes, the copyright owner.
Department or
Agency use:
1 - Use of photographs for documentation and
training purposes:
Photographs may be used for documentation and
training purposes without seeking further
permission from Jeffrey Mayes. Photographs may be
cropped, resized or de-saturated (converted to
black & white) for this purpose.
2 - Use of photographs for promotion and marketing:
Permission is not needed for photographs used in
promotional and marketing material (brochure,
tradeshow booth, 'office artwork', etc...)
Photographs may be cropped, resized or de-saturated

A photograph credit must be provided on all
material. Where appropriate, two copies of the item
that a photograph appears in must be provided to
the copyright owner. Photographs that appear on a
Department or Agency website are required to
provide credit as well as a link to the copyright
owner's website. Office artwork is defined by any
photograph that is 21" x 16" or bigger, and is
mounted and framed.
3 - Personal use of photographs:
High resolution digital photograph may never be
distributed to department or agency personnel.
Department or agencies are prohibited from giving
prints of photograph as 'gifts' to its personnel.
Department or agency personnel can download low
resolution photographs from www.jeffreymayes.com
free of charge. Low resolution photographs that
appear on a personal (non-commercial) website are
required to provide credit as well as a link to
www.jeffreymayes.com. Personnel seeking high
quality prints in any size must contact Jeffrey
Mayes.
4 - External or third party use of photograph:
External or third party use of photograph is
strictly prohibited. All inquiries must be made to
the copyright owner.
Commercial and
Non Department or Agency use:
All use of photography that is not by the
department or agency depicted in the photographs,
must obtain written permission from the copyright
owner. This includes publication in books,
magazines, commercial and non-commercial websites
as well as any other medium.
